Radderdaze Ten Year Raddiversary Part 1

Legend has it that this story we are about to dive into was started 10 years ago with a three act bill, some sharpied band sketches on a two-color flyer, and a name at a place with no name. Legend also has it that any genre was and still is fair game, nothing is out of the question. And if you’ve ever been to a Radderdaze show at No Name bar here in Winona then you know what we’re talking about here tonight. Next weekend on Fri and Sat, Feb 28 and March 1st, Radderdaze celebrates 10 Years of better than bad, rad shows! Over the course of two days there will be 10 bands to commemorate the 10 years that Radderdaze has been part of our music scene here in Winona. All ten of these bands have played Radderdaze in the past… that way we know that they are true Radderdaze material and are definitely better than bad. So here at KQAL we thought we could get in on the fun by bringing you some tunes from the artists playing the 10 Year Raddiversary… artists like Fernando Mendoza and Georgie, Super Marcato Brothers, Beet Root Stew, Count Spookula, and The Ultrasounds! and heck, who knows, some of them might even join us to talk about Radderdaze a little.

I’m Bill Stoneberg, and without any further adieu or doo-doo, join us as Todd Hanson and I, take a look back at Radderdaze past and a look ahead to well, next weekend, for the 10 Year Raddiversary of Radderdaze, tonight on The Sound.

Original air date: 02/19/25.
The Sound is written and produced by KQAL 89.5FM on the campus of Winona State University.
The Sound is made possible by a grant from the Minnesota Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund.
